WHY TV IS STILL SO EFFECTIVE?

We’ve conducted research with consumers about how they prefer, or react best to, advertising messages.

It found, conclusively, that television is still the strongest, most influential brand-building medium. When asked which platforms had most credibility when receiving brand messages, terrestrial and broadband TV finished first with 22%.

We believe this is because consumers know that TV advertising is more regulated than other forms of media (especially social) and can therefore be more trusted. Research shows that audiences are skeptical of online advertising, due to the freedom and ease of sharing an idea and making it ‘real’. TV has built a gilded reputation as an accepted source of brand truths; it is seen as an institution where deceit doesn’t run.
